My career began in functional design, focused on technical details. Over time, my interest shifted to how form and meaning work together. Creating abstract art provides space to contemplate where usefulness ends and beauty begins. The moments when movement and stillness meet have become central, and each piece serves as an exploration of change and balance, blending technical skill with creative vision.

At my local beach in The Hague, I watch for the moment when sunlight catches a wave. Light, shape, movement, and stillness meet for just a second, then everything changes. That in-between space always draws me in.

This curiosity is what made me start the Oceanic Systems series. Endless Summer was about the warmth of memory. With Oceanic Systems, I look at what lies under the surface: the steady rhythm of the ocean, its quiet presence, and the patterns that hold things together.

I remember standing at Cabo da Roca in Portugal, right at the edge of the continent, watching the sun set. The water moved gently, almost like slow breathing. The sky changed from deep coral to violet blue, and for a moment, everything felt still. That sense of breath, color, and quiet has stayed with me.

In each piece, I want to show that feeling of balance and those short moments when everything fits, and you feel part of something bigger. I use layers of color to show the ocean's depth, and I choose crystal glass pigments to catch the light, like sunlight on water. These things help me hold onto that in-between moment when time feels to stand still.

Thank you for taking the time to notice what happens between the lines, the waves, and the moments that matter. I hope you will join me where movement slows down, where the ocean and light ask you to pause and feel what words cannot say. I invite you to see these works or bring them into your space, to welcome a piece of these quiet, passing moments.
